Week 8 Recap: Las Vegas Legends FC Shuts Out FCGS Force

LAS VEGAS, NV (May 6, 2024) - There just might be a new force in the Southwest Region.

Las Vegas Legends FC has now defeated FCGS Force in each of the last two meetings, this time 2-0 in a NISA Nation Southwest Region match at Cristo Rey St. Viator High School on Sunday, May 5.

Roberto Soto and Lincoln Aquini had goals for Las Vegas Legends FC (6-0-0 overall), which last defeated FCGS Force at the SWPL West Region Tournament championship game on Nov. 19, 2023. The two clubs are scheduled to play again on June 8 at Rio Hondo College Stadium in Whittier, CA.

On Saturday, Alberto Renteria scored four times as Temecula FC overwhelmed Irvine Zeta FC II in a 9-1 victory at Chaparral High School in Temecula, CA, Eder Oliva Ruiz scored twice in the first 30 minutes as Capo FC shut out Olympiacos CA 7-0 at JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano, CA, and Afghan Premier FC scored twice in the first half en route to a 2-0 win over Bay Area United FC at Estuary Park Soccer Field in Alameda, CA.

On Sunday, Jailany Thiaw had three goals to help Laguna FC earn a 3-3 draw against Club Tepa at South San Francisco High School Stadium.
